You know that saying,
"we put the fun is dysfunctional"?
Well for my family that is a bit of an understatement. I would attempt to compare my family to one of those awesome sitcoms that everybody loves and laughs at once a week like clockwork but there is none that even come close.
So for me coming home tends to be more of a headache than anything else. Especially when I'm home for extended periods of time. As much as I long to write a sob story about poor me and my family issues this blog is to document my adventures. So instead of the tragic story of a girl with daddy issues I will tell you about my fun filled adventure today.
The first part of the day consisted of brunch with my older brother, sister-in-law, and two nephews. After lunch we decided to go and play some putt putt golf. Now little does everyone know this girl right here is a putt putt golf champ! (insert overwhelming amount sarcasm here)
Not only am I bad at putt putt golf I'm horrible.
Thankfully though putt putt skills don't exactly run in my family.
Between Lucas thinking that putt putt should be played more like hockey and Brady practically spitting his gum on the green it was a eventful experience.
Thankfully my amazing photography skills captured this beauty. Yes, that white blob falling from his mouth is his gum. What can I say Auntie taught him good.
After showcasing exactly why it is that I should play putt putt professionally we journeyed back to my older brothers house.
Here's where the fun begins.
Now just so you know I happen to be a HUUGGGEEEE Harry Potter fan. This should explain my behavior in not only this post but future ones as well. So upon arriving to Damian's house Lucas began to show me all of his awesome new Harry Potter stuff. More like rubbing it in than showing if you ask me, but hes 8 so i'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
It started off by him showing me his talking Sorting Hat.
After showing off this awesome hat my sister-in-law told me possibly the best news I have ever heard. They have Harry Potter for the Kinect.
Now this game is what I would describe as a dream come true. You get to act out many of the tasks that Harry Potter does. So of course you need to dress up to play this game right? Well in my world you do.
I am a firm believer that you are never to old to play dress up. Especially if your nephew has multiple cloaks and wands. So while playing dress up I also like to use my imagination to travel to awesome places like, yeah you guessed it, The Ministry of Magic!
While most people probably think I am beyond nerd status I find this to be one of the best Saturday nights I have had in a long time. Putt putt golf and traveling to The Ministry of Magic? Does it get any better?
