They say you can't fail
if you don't try. So here's to failing. Writing has never been a strong suit of
mine. My grammar..... let’s not even go there. Since we are avoiding my
grammar we might as well add spelling to the list as well.
Why create a blog if
overall you suck at writing?
This blog is meant to
help organize my ideas of how to take over the world.
Or at least get to know
it better.
This blog is my first
date in what I hope to be a promising relationship of documenting my adventures
as a progressive minded girl who wants to travel the world.
So since we are playing
the let’s get to know each other game I guess I'll start.
I like long walks on the
beach, candles, romantic boat rides..... oh wait, not what you want to know? My badness (is that
what the kids are still saying these days?).
My name is Andrea.
I'm a young progressive
female who grew up in Washington State.
The past four years of
my life have been spent in the lovely state of Montana.
I will be graduating
college soon with a degree in Wildlife Biology, but will be attempting a career
in politics.
Why politics you ask? Nobody
really likes politics right?
Well you see I'm that
girl, that girl who would rather talk about what small grassroots organization
is helping to empower women in Africa than talk about the $300 shoes I don't
own. I love the idea of being able to truly make a change in this country. Now
don't get me wrong I understand that there are in fact a lot of issues in the
way in our government works but each one of the issues is something that people
in other countries are dying for the chance to fix.
It is through traveling that
I have grasped an understanding of how the world truly views our livelihood as
Americans. This is a journey that I wish to continue. We can only better
ourselves by bettering the planet as a whole.
Across my left shoulder
the words “I am because we are” are forever inscribed in black ink. This is a
saying I use to remind myself both in my travels and in my career path. As individuals
we are good, but as a species we can be great.
But that's me, a non-god
fearing girl who wants to help the world.
